Annual Toy Drive
Home > What’s Happening > Annual Toy Drive
With the temperatures and humidity that we’re experiencing this week, it’s hard to believe that our annual Toy and Food Drive planning is well underway. That being said, on Sunday September 25, 2016 the 4th Annual “Ride for Toys” will take place from the Canadian Tire Parking Lot Campbellford. For those who may not be aware, this ride throughout Trent Hills is the first event that garners support and creates awareness of the Trent Hills Toy and Food Drive. The number of families that are helped by the Drive throughout Trent Hills during the Christmas Season continues to increase year over year.
In early November, CLC/B will help with the delivery of drop boxes in local participating stores, etc. and we’ll get our sleigh ready in the Resource Centre to host the official Toy and Food Drive Kickoff in the Acorn Room on November 2 at 10am…always a favorite of our primary school classes – does it get any better than seeing Santa AND getting hot chocolate and cookies??
This year’s Toy Drive Kick Off was another huge “SUCCESS”! Many children from local schools joined us for Hot Chocolate and Cookies for the beginning of what we hope is another successful year.
Mayor MacMillan drops the first toy into the sled while Campbellford Fire Department Chief, Tim Blake looks on. Many local school children, community members, toy drive partners and sponsors followed the Mayor’s lead until the sled was overflowing with toys.
